Hello! I’m Andrés Aranda, I’m professor at Department of History and Philosophy of Medicine at Medical Faculty of the National Autonomous University of Mexico.
I create this blog with the principal idea to interact with my students beyond the end-of-semester, with the intention to stimulate their interests in the medical humanities. Eventually I hope achieving a bigger audience composed by other persons interested in these areas.
The main purpose of Humanities, Arts and Medicine is to explore the interactions between medical knowledges and different cultural demonstrations, in the present time, but also in their historical development, to get our goal we’ll support in different disciplines like history of medicine, medical anthropology, bioethics, literature and arts.
So welcome to this space, created to rethink the medical knowledge and the medical practice, from diverse interdisciplinary viewpoints.
